Scheduler/Dispatcher is responsible for trip scheduling and dispatching rides to drivers for a fixed route system and demand response system. Dispatcher will coordinate driver assignments and work schedules. The dispatch system is a detail oriented program called Routematch.
Position requires extensive computer work and literacy.
Responsibilities include answering phones courteously, scheduling and dispatching rides from callers into the Routematch system and double checking all information. The position requires the ability to do detailed computer work, ability to follow instruction, handle stressful situations calm and courteously. Attention and accuracy to detail is critical. Must be able to multi-talk. The position is frequently fast paced.
Dispatcher must have the physical dexterity to use a computer keyboard, to reach, stand, lift light loads and sit for extended periods of time.
This is a safety sensitive position and requires drug and alcohol testing – pre-employment and random.
Workdays would be Friday and Saturday – each 10 hr days and fill in for other dispatcher. Possibly more.
